NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a highly prestigious entrance examination that is conducted in India by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for aspiring students who wish to pursue undergraduate medical and dental courses (MBBS/BDS) in government or private medical colleges within India. NTA conducts NEET annually under the direction of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The examination tests students in Physics, Chemistry and Biology as knowledge-competent subjects, and scoring well in the examination is a major determining factor in acquiring admission to prestigious medical institutions.
What is the National Testing Agency (NTA)?
The National Testing Agency conducts and regulates the NEET Examination. The NTA was established for the purpose of conducting entrance exams for fellowships and for admission into higher educational programmes. It is an autonomous, leading, specialized, independent and self-sustaining testing organization.
Since its founding in 2018, the organization has solidified its reputation as a leading authority on entrance exams. In addition to the NEET, it also administers other competitive entrance exams, such as the Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE), Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT), National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), UGC National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) and many more.

Eligibility Criteria - NEET (UG) 2025
Citizenship | Candidates of Indian citizenship, as well as NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals, are eligible to take the NEET exam. |

Eligibility Criteria for NRI Students
To be eligible to take the NEET (UG) examination, applicants who have completed their education outside of the country must meet the NEET eligibility criteria.
The eligibility requirement states that the last examination passed by NRI/Foreign students must be comparable to a Class 12th qualification in their home country. All foreign/NRI candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main courses. Furthermore, students must have passed both the theory and practical tests in each of the three subjects, as well as the English qualifying exam.
How to apply for NEET (UG) 2025?
Candidates aiming to take the NEET UG exam in 2025 can follow these steps to complete the NEET form submission process on the official website.
Step 1:Registration
To begin the registration procedure for NEET UG 2025, students must go to the official NEET UG website, neet.ntaonline.in. Once on the homepage, look for the link labeled "Fill Registration Form" or the prompt inviting NEET UG 2025 Registration. To begin, simply click on this link. Select 'New Registration' and carefully read the instructions before entering important information such as your name, gender, and nationality.
Step 2:Apply Online for NEET 2025
Once registration is completed, candidates must proceed to apply online for NEET 2025. To do so, click on 'click here to login' and enter your application number along with the provided password to access the NEET application form. Please note that the application form will be The application form has 12 sections that contain various details, each of which must be filled out correctly. Candidates are recommended to carefully examine all details before final submission since changes cannot be made once the form has been submitted. When finished, confirm submission by selecting "Yes, please do" on the confirmation pop-up.
Step 3:Upload Scanned Images
Proceed to upload scanned images by clicking on “Upload your recent documents” and selecting the relevant files. After selecting the files, click on “Next” to proceed to the next step.
Step 4:Make Payment
Candidates are required to choose their preferred payment method from the available options, which include SBI, Syndicate, HDFC, ICICI, Paytm Payment Gateway using Debit Card, Credit Card, net banking, or UPI.
Step 5:Print Confirmation
Once the payment is successfully processed, candidates should save and print the completed NEET application form along with the confirmation slip for future reference.
Language of the Question Paper - NEET (UG) 2025
NEET 2025 will be made available in multiple languages for a mass number of candidates from the entire country. As per their preference or choice, candidates are allowed to select any one language out of English, Hindi and other regional languages such as Bengali, Malayalam, Punjabi, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Assamese, Kannada, Odia and Telugu among others.

Exam Duration - NEET (UG) 2025
For NEET 2025, the exam duration is set at 3 hours and 20 minutes, allowing candidates ample time to complete the test.
NEET (UG) 2025 Syllabus
Generally, the NEET (UG) 2025 syllabus is released in and around mid-February. Along with the syllabus, the National Testing Agency (NTA) also releases an information bulletin in which all the exam-related updates are provided. NEET (UG) 2025 examination will be held in the first week of May. Therefore, candidates must download the curriculum PDF as soon as it gets published.
